Joan Monford Taylor, 79 of Ocala Florida passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Monroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala Florida.
Joan was born January 3, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to Edward and Doris (Phillipson) Monford.
Mrs. Taylor retired after 20 years with Ross Nursing and Rehab as a Director of Nursing.
She has been a resident of Marion County since 1989, relocating from Islandia, New York.
Mrs Taylor enjoyed the Ocala Civic Theater and was a season ticket and benefactor. She was an avid reader of mystery novels. Solving crossword puzzles was a daily exercise that she enjoyed along with company of her two dogs Frankie and Deuce.
She returned to active nursing in 1991 at Ocala Geriatric and then New Horizon Rehab and finally wound down with Helping Hands Home Care. She was the ultimate nurse and a very caring Nurse.
She is survived by, husband Randolph Taylor, Jr. Of Ocala, Florida, daughters Danielle and Lauren of Ocala Florida, Mari of New Brunswick, NJ and Kelliann of Freeport, NY. She is also survived by sons, Maurice and Randolph III of Ocala, FL, Gregory and Mark of Charlottesville, VA, Van of Bradenton Florida and Todd of Atlanta, GA. Sister Gladys Butcher Brother In Laws Glen Taylor, Michael Green Sister In Law Alpheada Hampton, Sons in-Law Robert Ford and Kenneth Gilbert of Ocala and Robert DeWayne Kingston of New Brunswick NJ, she is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Angie, Todd Jr, Brittney, Holden, Van Jr, Vanisha, Jessica, Vanessa, Kirston, Devin, Mark Jr, Maurissa, Paris, Raven and Alex, as well as by 8 great- grandchildren, Selene, Amina, Asiah, Jaylen, Avaeh, Kris, Javin, Van III.
Public Funeral Services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home 2739 SE Maricamp Road Ocala, FL 34471 On Saturday April 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm. The family is requesting that No Flowers be sent to the funeral service.
