Gail Livsey Engels, 74, of Ocala, Florida, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on October 7, 2016. Gail was born in Buffalo, NY on September 30, 1942 to Al and Muriel (Smith) Kogler. She moved to Ocala in 1979. Gail worked in restaurant management for many years, specializing in event planning and coordinating memorable weddings and events at Golden Hills Golf and Country Club and the Holiday Inn. For a time before retirement, Gail was also the co-owner of a ladies clothing boutique that accessorized and dressed many of Ocala's Red Hat Ladies. Gail was an avid football fan, especially of the Buffalo Bills and Florida Gators. She loved her horses and her fur baby, Shadow. Gail was also known as "Nickel" to those in the bowling community.
She leaves behind her loving husband, William (Bill) Engels of Ocala; daughter Susan (John) Pedersen of High Springs, Fl; and her loving extended family, James K. Livsey, Lynn (Tom) Pemberton, and the late Jeffrey Livsey, all of Hamburg, NY. Cynthia (Kevin) Nelson of Charleston, WV, Scott (Lonnie) Engels of York, PA, as well as 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at the Roberts Funeral Homes Bruce Chapel West 6241 SW State Road 200, Ocala on Friday October 14, 2016 beginning at 4PM. In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to the Hospice House of Marion County, Inc., Post Office Box 4860, Ocala, Florida 34478-4860 or the American Cancer Society, Oakland Hills Professional Cntr., 13940 US HWY 441, Bldg 200, Suite 205, Lady lake, Florida.
